Greetings, adventurers!
It’s been an incredible few months of development for the Lumenshard project, and we’re thrilled to provide this comprehensive update on our progress. Our team has been working tirelessly across all aspects of the game, and we’re eager to share what we’ve accomplished and what’s still ahead. This update focuses on three key areas: Core Systems, Gameplay Features, and Explorable Spaces.
We’ve broken down the details in the roadmap graphic, but let’s dive deeper into what each section means for the future of Lumenshard!
We’ve finalized the core of our Procedural Figment Generation system, which dynamically generates the levels, shops, gates, mobs, and loot you’ll encounter in your Dreamfarers expeditions. This system ensures that no two runs are ever the same, providing endless replayability, expandability, and fun new challenges.
This system adds depth to combat by introducing dynamic Crowd Control Effects that are reflected on the player’s HUD. Whether you're stunned, silenced, slowed, or otherwise debuffed, the visual feedback is now in place to keep you on your toes in battle.
Afflictions, such as poison, can significantly impact gameplay, and we’re excited to announce that the Afflictions System has been completed. Players will see any afflictions displayed directly on their HUD, providing real-time feedback during combat encounters.
An updated Party System is on the horizon, designed to streamline party creation and management across all gamemodes. This will make it easier than ever for players to form groups and tackle the toughest challenges Lumenshard has to offer.
We’re currently overhauling our user interface and experience. This UI/UX Overhaul will bring more clarity and polish to in-game menus, making it easier for players to navigate all the features we’ve implemented so far—and those still to come.
This system tracks your progress through Dreamfarers and dynamically escalates the difficulty as you venture deeper into each expedition. Keep an eye on the HUD for warnings as things start to get more dangerous!
We’ve built a Custom Crafting System from the ground up, supporting all workstations in Dreamfarers and LMC. Whether you’re forging powerful new items, upgrading artifacts and relics, or brewing essential potions, the crafting system will be a key part of your journey across all of our experiences.
We've built a fully modular system that allows to stand up new workstations and implement a workstation progression system, with upgradability and modularity in mind for future updates.
Our Custom Economy System is complete and will power in-game transactions, including the transfer of currency between servers. The HUD will keep you informed on your balance as you earn and spend in-game.
Your home base while playing Dreamfarers will be on The Interloper, your very own airship and hub, where you can collect loot from expedition runs, store items, and craft improved artifacts and relics. These camps will act as your home base as you prepare for future adventures.
We’ve implemented over 180 active skills and abilities as well as more than 70 passive traits, all of which impact your character’s progression. This system is still being refined, but it will be a crucial part of how you customize your playstyle on each expedition run.
We’re planning to introduce Curses to the Dreamfarers experience. These curses will alter gameplay in unique ways, presenting players with new challenges that require creative solutions to overcome.
In the future, players will encounter The Broker, a mysterious NPC who will facilitate item trades and offer rare goods—along with their more sinister counterpart, who deals in “nightmarish” deals.
Castle Larragen is your gateway to Makrival’s Last Gala, the final revel of the sorcerer Garoto Makrival. While the castle may seem inviting, you’ll soon discover that the other guests aren’t as welcoming as they once were.
Beneath the Loghec Jungles lies a vast network of twisting caverns and ancient ruins. Strange crystals glow in the darkness, guiding explorers toward untold riches—or their doom.
As we move forward, our focus is on continuing to refine these systems and features, ensuring that each aspect of Lumenshard is as polished as possible before launch. Our goal is to deliver a deeply immersive experience that offers endless replayability, tight gameplay mechanics, and a world that players can lose themselves in for hours on end.
